To the suicidal mama fighting to stay alive for her kids

To the suicidal mama fighting to stay alive for her kids.

14 phrases kids said that were code words for “I’m anxious.”

What suicide loss “looks like.”

To the suicidal mama fighting to stay alive for her kids, we see you.

To the suicidal father afraid sharing his feelings makes him less of a man, we hear you.

To anyone already starting their week with the “not good enoughs” rolling around in their head, we understand you.

Because two things are true: Whatever pain you’re feeling this week is real and valid – and there’s someone out there who understands. That doesn’t make whatever you’re going through less unique to you. It doesn’t water it down. It just means someone out there understands, so instead of isolating yourself this week, do what you can to reach out. To a friend, to a family member or to support online. We’re never going through it alone.

Take care of yourself this week! We’ll be thinking about you.

Best,

Sarah
